Thanks to everyone who came out to Core Creek for a very successful first event of the season.  Although it was a little damp, temperatures were mild and the weather did not dampen the spirits of our large turnout of orienteers.

Bob Burg, our course setter, spent a lot of time this winter updating the map and designed great courses that got people into all areas of this smallish park.

Of course an event like this can not come off smoothly without a great group of volunteer helpers.  At the risk of missing someone, I would like to thank some of the key people that made my day easier and stress free:

Bob and Pat Burton came early and set up their tent to keep the maps dry at start and then worked at the start line all day handing out maps and helping beginners with the start procedure.

Dawn Weiss and Dave Morgan worked check-in to welcome people and make sure everyone got their proper e-punch.

Same Kolins, Laura Adduci, Joey McGarvey, and Bob Agosta teamed up to keep the results computer running smoothly.  It is great to see some new people getting involved to learn this important task.

Bob Agosta, Bob Burg, Sam Kolins, Kathy Moss, Ernie Schubert, Dawn Weiss, Donna Zimmer and Mitch Zimmer all helped to make short work of control pickup.

Mark and Mary Frank helped with final clean-up and packing of the kit to take it off to its next event.

Although she was not able to make it to the event, thanks to Kathy Urban who worked to obtain park permission and rental of the pavilion that kept us dry through the day.

As I said, this group of people made my day go smoothly and I hope that future event directors will get similar support from volunteers that make the club strong.
