This year President\'s Cup will be held at Warwick County Park.
President\'s Cup course will have a mass start at 11:00AM and then second mass start at 11:45AM or 12:00PM.
Start window for Beginner/Intermediate courses will be 11:00AM (after the mass start) till 12:00PM.
All courses will be closed at 1:00PM or earlier and controls pick up will start.
Please plan your time accordingly.
This map was used on regular basis for local events and was recently updated to reflect changes in the vegetation and trail network. However, brand new office building and surrounding parking lot/paved trails ARE not on the current version of the map, so, please be aware of that. While field checking locations a week ago, I have noticed few more new rootstocks which are not on the map.
This year President\'s Cup theme is \"Charcoal Platform\". It\'ll feature a short \"Charcoal-O\" (Score-O format) course with a maximum of 930 points and time limit of 25-30 minutes. Most of control locations (12 out of 18) will be charcoal platforms with some rootstocks, boulders, and depressions in the mix. Each control will have points value:
- 31 through 39 - 30 points
- 40 through 49 - 40 points
- 50 through 59 - 50 points
- 60 through 69 - 60 points
- 70 through 79 - 70 points
After you finish your \"Charcoal-O\" course, the points will be calculated and start time for the Sprint-O course assigned in such manner that it will be almost another mass start with the leaders going out first and the rest catching them. The first person crossed the finish line will be a winner of 2014 President\'s Cup.
Beginner and Intermediate are standard point-to-point courses derived from control locations used for the \"Charcoal-O\" and Sprint-O courses. For this event maps will be printed at 1:5,000 scale (laser printed at Staples).
There will be no water stops on the course.

- Day-of-registration is available, at $10 for beginners, and $20 for other courses.
All starts are from 10:00am until 1:00pm unless otherwise noted. Follow the text directions and look for Orienteering road signs as you near the park.
