Topic created by Sandy on Wed Apr 17, 2024 at 10:50 amDVOA is hosting the 2024 Orienteering USA Nationals in October in northeast PA on brand new maps of Nay Aug Park in Scranton and Merli-Sarnoski County Park about 20 miles to the northeast. There will be a full slate of NRE (National Ranking Event) courses as well as recreational beginner and advanced beginner courses.There is a sprint on Friday Oct. 11 at Nay Aug Park in Scranton, PA and a middle and long on Saturday and Sunday Oct. 12 and 13 at Merli-Sarnoski Park. The middle and long have been designated as World Ranking Events (WREs). All the maps are brand new.More details are on the website.Many DVOAers have already volunteered to help at this event (thank you, thank you), but we still need people to help in all sorts of roles. If you are willing to help, please contact me. If you plan to help or even just attend and you want to stay in the area for the weekend, we reccommend booking accommodations or making camping reservations as early as possible. There is a large marathon happening that weekend and places will fill up fast.Registration is now open; you can register here for the NRE; there is a separate link to register for recreational courses (see the website).
