Topic created by kathyu on Sun May 21, 2023 at 9:26 amAs you enter the park from the south on 534, you see the Camptel property (expensive and two night stay required), but I kind of remember a motel before that. Can't seem to locate it on google maps, etc. Just want to stay over Saturday night. I'll also try for a park cabin. We have a little tent, but I'm getting too old for that s***.

Reply by Sandy on Sun May 21, 2023 at 1:10 pmThis is probably the one you mean:Hickory Run Motel2544 Rt. 534Albrightsville, PA570.722.3336It used to look really run down, but seems to be looking a bit better these days. There's also an EconoLodge and other options on PA 940 just north of the park.

I am done with my small backpacking tent also! We had campfire and went out to dinner. lol. camperpat

Reply by Sandy on Fri May 26, 2023 at 8:49 pmI'll be interested in hearing what you think of the place. It's gone from a handful of unts to a whole bunch (30+ I'm guessing - it's hard to tell from the road) since I moved up here. They look pretty nice from the outside and I'm curious to hear how they are on the inside.

Reply by kathyu on Thu Jun 8, 2023 at 1:14 pmThe oddly named Gotham Fireside Bar and Grille is in the camptel property and claims to have food and drink. Looks like it might be fun to try. If you are camping, you probably won't be able to have a campfire.
