Topic created by MaryFrank on Mon Apr 4, 2022 at 7:33 amSo we had a rocky start to the event with the original Course Setter and Assistant Event Director having to get out of their commitments due to work and family issues. It was disappointing we had to cancel the formal Merit Badge Saturday training. However I had 3 Troops that had contacted me and with a skeleton crew we work with 33 Scouts (Scranton area Troop, Marlton NJ Troop and Garnet Valley Troop) and they were even able to help set out controls for Sunday as part of their badge work!!!We were lucky Wyatt was able to come up and take care of the course setting aspect of the event. With only using 27 controls!!!. Not a large group came to run but those that came seemed to have a smile on their face afterwards.A big Thank You goes out to Wyatt, Hawk Mountain Staff, John Gillette, Ian Whitehead, Petr Hartman, Ernie Schubert, Rob Frank and Mitch Zimmer for helping out along with the scouts from Saturday who hung 50 percent of the controls. Wyatt had streamered each location so it was work for the Scouts to find the streamer, verify the number and set the control - pin, post, flag and control box. They seemed to enjoy it.So thank you everyone who helped or came the distance! It was nice being at Hawk Mountain (the heated cabin was a major plus - thank you Hawk Mountain for this too).

Reply by kathyu on Mon Apr 4, 2022 at 8:35 amthanks to all who made Hawk Mountain possible. I had an uneventful run which for me is an event! It was a grey and kind of miserable weather day, so cheers to those who came out even though tempted to stay in bed.
