Nice article in the Sunday Inquirer about how volunteers from the Outdoor Club of South Jersey maintain the 53 miles of the Batona Trail.  Mentioned is our own Pat Burton.

2 grandchildren, 2 grand dogs, and 2 great clubs ocsj and dvoa, with a dash of work once a week makes my rertirement very busy , but its a happy busy. .  lol.

The outdoors club is where I actually met the Ringos in 1967. They were bringing orienteering to our club along with some hikes.  Bert Nixdorf and The Ringos worked together on outdoor activities.   Eventually the Ringos devoted most of their time to orienteering and Bert Nixdorf moved the outdoors club to a 1200 membership and both a still going strong.  I have alot to be thankful.  for.  Pat

Pat & Bob,   Wow ...just Wow... I did not know you knew the Ringos and Bert Nixdorf back in 1967!  I never met some of the earlier pioneers but the Ringos told me many stories about them.   Mark
