The summer's tropical storms hit QH hard, leaving trees and canopy across trails all over the place.  And since Ranger Adam's regular crew left when the camp closed in the Spring, he is the only staff still working as the camp opened last weekend, preparing for a full campground this weekend. So I have been opening up trails the last two weeks (with hand saw and major shears in hand) for which Adam is totally grateful. It has given a whole new meaning to the word "fieldwork".  Tongue out

And focusing on clearing course routes, it will be lots of fun out there on Sunday.  Occasional tree trunks, given your height, to either step or climb over, lots of fun for the adventurous among us....while still easy enough for everyone.

All the courses have gone through several generations of revision, so all courses will avoid the worst downfall.  And given the forecasts, we anticipate ideal weather for orienteering.

This is our ONE event for NJ orienteering this year, so gas up your car and join us for a great early autumn day of orienteering.at fu

And come out to support our Suhocki/Carrigan clan who are navigating their event directing debut. We've got a great core staff, and would also welcome any additional help for whatever amount of time you can contribute.  It does indeed take a village to run our events so well.  Cool

P.S.  I will post final course stats later today, but they're not substantially different than already posted and will be great fun.
