Thank you to Mary Frank and Vytas M. of the nature center for doing registration while I frantically got the printer to cough up more maps.

Thank you to Mark Frank for his help teaching / sales job the day before  - we grabbed random hiking families and before they knew it, they had an epunch and a map in hand and were off on a beginner course.

Sorry for anyone who had a sub-quality map.  Eventually I got my computer connected to the printer directly and the quality of the printouts was restored.  I'll print more maps next year if conditions/circumstances are similar.  And I'll fix that twisty trail on the map - sounds like I need to add one more twist to it.  I had averaged a bunch of GPS tracks but I think I'll just have to pace it out to get it more accurate.   By next year, the old (straight) trail should be no longer visible and I can take it mostly off the map.

Chris, thank you for acknowledging the insufficiency of much GPS (Strava?) trail info, at least for O-map purposes. I mention this because it has become commonplace to use and trust this source. Indeed, GPS can be accurate enough, with the right equipment in the right hands, but in most of our circumstances it is not. On one of our best first rate maps that I was recently asked to review, I noted that the only location problem was a trail that someone GPS'd in, (based on report and obvious appearance).

I was happy to hear about the missing twist! I thought it was my navigation.  I had so much fun on both Friday and Saturday.  I love McKaig -- what a gem to have in my neighborhood.
Thank you Chris and your helpers on both days.  An hour in the woods beats beats an hour in the gym any day of the week.
