Penn State Berks thanks 7/17

Topic created by JanetT on Thu Jul 18, 2019 at 1:47 pmWednesday evening's sprints at Penn State Berks in Reading started out hot and steamy, with scattered clouds and forecasts of T-storms holding off until 9:00 or so.
23 intrepid DVOA members braved the sultry heat and varying weather. Early starters got drenched in sweat, but later starters were subjected to downpours and the occasional lightning--plus low-lying areas collecting up to knee-deep standing water--causing some already on a course to retreat to sheltered spots, and others to skip a second sprint altogether.
In the end, though, we collected almost $300 for the US Team. In addition to course designer/setter Glen Tryson, I want to thank those who stepped in to help us get set up and taken down, whether it was the canopy, computer, banners, signs, or control pickup; with special thanks to Sandy for arranging registration, download, and printer electronics, starting up the registration process, and finalizing results at the end:
Kathy and Dave Urban

Sandy Fillebrown
Brad Colbeck
Sam Kolins
Diane Reider
Mitch and Donna Zimmer
Thank you all!
