Topic created by BRycharski on Sat Sep 8, 2018 at 11:36 amHi All, as both a DVOA and HVO member, I give the following heads up to all those hidden Harry Potter Fans in the tri-wizards strike that tri-state areaTHe Rules for the scoring of the HVO-DVOA dual meet are not yet ready, and will likely follow traditional scoring rules, with ONE NEW exception. There will be a Under 18 (for the DVOA and HVO chldren ) QUIZ on a topic of the event directors choice.THis year, there will be a paper Quiz (yel long course), the topic will be Harry Potter Trivia BUT its about the books!!!That said, reviewing the movies will be very limited help. Books will be allowed on the courses (Optional).Important, as there are 8 or more books (discounting the Rowling's cursed child new HP book)THis Oct 14th the quiz will ONLY be centered on book #3 and 4, Azkaban and the Tri Wizard one (the ED's favorites)Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Harry Potter and the Goblet of FireMembers will need to bring a pen that has a standard Goshawks non-cheating spell cast on it.Paper quiz is in development and tips will be provided at the meet site or on request after 1 October to the ED. multiple choice or fill in answer format.For the dual meet the top 3 childrens Quizes from the Yellow Long course (tentative) will be somehow included in the dual meet scoring results. adult entries do not count in the dual meet.Good luck and It will be entertaining but will not as I said have much trivia from the moviesLike what "Family" was involuntarily captured and made to be airbourne (hoisted in fact) as the death eaters (bad guys) made there infameous return at the end of the Ireland/Romania Word Cup event?Who caught the Snitch and whom won the World Cup game (only one of the two answers was in the movie unless you read the book and knew the visual reference). who predicted that would be the quiditch result and wagered some savings/gold with Mr bagman to wit?Sorry, wands away while on course. (and Accio spells will temporarily not work on/in Wanaque Park lands or finding your Dual Meet controls would be way too easy.)See you in the ...
