This is my first go at setting courses on this map and it has been an enjoyable venue which affords plenty of opportunities for interesting and challenging courses. This is also one of those maps referred to recently that requires a bit of a walk if we are not to overuse the same start area. Today's start is a 15 to 18 minute stroll, or a much faster warm up if you so desire, from the parking which is off the map. Find someone to enjoy the walk with.
The white and yellow courses take advantage of the very scenic reservoir at the low point of the map. The white course has a section of flagged indistinct trail between #9 and 10. Please make a mental note to pay attention to the reminder on your clue sheet.
The woods were very open and beautiful in early April when the courses were set. Things have greened up fully since then but I tried to anticipate the best areas to run your courses through while giving you go-around options. There are also several areas of very concentrated rock features, which again you do not need to get hung up in. These are some of the things that make this map interesting; obstacles with options.
Orange through Blue courses, with the exception of Brown, all get the opportunity to get a look at the reservoir. Whether or not Red and Green get to see it is dependent upon your route choice. The Blue course is on the long side giving you a complete tour of the map with 25 controls,two of them being visited twice for a total of 27.
