Notes: Rescheduled Hurricane Sandy Quail Hill Invitational DVOA & Scout event, Scout start times are now filled. Late registrations must be refused. No Dogs are allowed registration forms and information

ED/CS Notes:

These courses are from the event that was postponed Nov 2012.  All courses were rechecked and the Yellow LONG Course was redesigned due to a trail closure.  While the Blue Trail in the north of the camp is closed (It is open to "High Hurdles" expert splinters) due to downed trees, it is still visible and usable for navigation. That said, expect 50 to 75 new unmapped trees or rootstocks to be crossed or avoided, mostly in two small areas.  A map showing the affected areas will be available at registration.  Usually going around the obstructions will  be easier than attempting to go over them.  While Ranger Adam thankfully has cleared all but two camp trails, trees and rootstocks in the deep forest have not been removed. Only the most dangerous tree and branch snags have been removed from the forest proper. All trails but one are cleared, so beginner courses will not be difficult. There are piles of cut logs which are not mapped and will need to be avoided. Most advanced courses visit mostly runnable forest, but short-cut choices may be more limited.  This Orienteering meet will not be one to move up "a new level" as maps were already designed and printed before the "Sandy" windstorm damage in Nov.  As more clean-up is completed, notes will be posted here up to the event date of April 13th.  Remember, Scouts/Troops must register before April 3, but DVOA members do not. Scouts Registration form is at http://www.scoutorienteering.com/events/2013-04-14a.htm.

After April 3 registration for large units may close without warning.

No Dogs are allowed at the camp.

See the volunteer list, please help out, I especially need two morning flag hanging volunteers to help me get everything in the woods.
