Notes: Regular club event plus a free Intermediate Orienteering Class. Class is offered at two times, starting at 10:00 and 11:15. Lasts around 1 hour. Class will cover skills useful for finding controls that are not near trails. Topics will include planning and attackpoints, keeping map contact, rough compass and aiming off, and reading contours. The class is aimed at people who have completed an orienteering course before and are looking to transition to (or improve their performance on) courses that involve more off-trail navigation. After the class you can try out your new skills on one of the full courses being offered that day ($7 for DVOA members, $12 for non-members)
