ED/CS Notes:

By now you are all wondering what the heck Aronson has planned for this weekend. Well you are right, I have gone to great trouble to drive you all nuts.

The first thing you need are driving directions to get here. So...., If you are coming from the south you may choose to use the NE Extension to the Allentown exit, Travel East on Rt.22 for less than half a mile, head south on Pa 309 and merge with I78. Those of you coming from the West will probably already be on I 78. Go to the Bethlehem Exit at Pa 412. Turn right at the base of the ramp, travel under I78 and turn left between the Turkey Hill and the Wendys. BTW  The name of the park is South Mountain Park in Bethlehem. That may work better in your GPS

Those of you coming south will be useing Rt33 until you meet I78 west. You will then merge with the eastbound traffic from New Jersey. You will also use the Pa412 Bethlehem exit, but you will go straight at the bottom of the ramp, and join the others between the Turkey Hill and the Wendys.

Silvex Road will weave under the interstate to a triangle. Turn left onto College Avenue and drive to the end. Turn right onto South Mountain Drive and head up the hill. There will be two forks in the road, and you should bear left both times. We will be on the left, across from the abandoned TV studio.

I have to thank Petr Hartman for all of his time and effort. He has added over 400 rootstocks to the map (many with the tree fall), as well as removing a house, adding a half dozen new condos, widening some roads and fire lanes and adding new trails where they have appeared. He has even added the permanant orienteering markers that the ROTC has placed in the woods. This map is absolutley up to date.

Today\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s specialty ala carte

Now that you have made the trek, and climbed all over the hillside, we have a special treat for you. For an additional two dollars, we have a 2.0K course printed on a two color, contour only map. With only 40 meters of climb, you should be able find your way around the top of the hill in a new and challenging way. Since this will not count for the rankings there is no reason for you not to give it a try. There is no better way to improve your skills than to take this unique challenge.
